Summer Foraging and forest therapy

Secret location in Aylesford Kent

Saturday 17th June 2023 – 14.00pm-16.00pm

I have studied Western herbal Medicine and can’t wait to connect you to some of my  favourite hedgerow plants abundant to the Kent countryside. We will meet in an urban industrial estate, yes that’s right but don’t worry it’s just around the corner from the scenic countryside paths. Some of the best finds are in   urban places. The whole route is between 2 – 3 miles, the walk will be slow paced. I will introduce you to an array of medicinal plants sharing their secret stories lost in time. In spring my favourites are: nettle, cleavers, meadowsweet, mugwort and yarrow. If this list of plants feels daunting or means nothing to you who cares, by the end of the experience if you remember one, then you have been successful.

Once at the woodland it’s time to enter a new world. I will guide you through a forest therapy activities, encouraging you to relax and slow down. Forest bathing/ forest therapy (or shinrin-yoku) means taking the forest atmosphere. It about being immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest.
